IT Support Engineer

Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), part of the SATS Group, is a prominent name in the international air cargo industry with over 50.000 employees worldwide. This involves sorting, securely storing, and preparing goods for further distribution. We unload trucks, assemble cargo on aircraft pallets or in containers, ensuring that every package reaches its destination elsewhere in the world. IT Support Engineer

An IT Support Engineer with a passion for technology and strong knowledge of ICT systems and processes.

Your responsibilities:

• Act as the escalation point and second point of contact for resolving IT support requests from employees. First-line support is provided by local IT support and the external IT supplier;
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding computer systems;
• Modify configurations, settings, and permissions to resolve computer issues for exceptions/VIPs;
• Ensure a smooth IT onboarding process in collaboration with local HR for new employees;
• Oversee the logging of all service requests and update tickets when necessary;
• Gather and analyze data to diagnose computer system issues;
• Supervise IT activities, including the installation of new software and hardware drivers and updates to existing hardware performed by an external supplier;
• Provide insights and ensure best practices to continuously improve WFS IT services;
• Collaborate with the global IT community to standardize and leverage best practices;
• Develop an understanding of business operations, user needs, and functional requirements;
• Document user requirements, solutions, and budget proposals.

Your profile:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Strong interpersonal skills – ability to communicate with business users and understand their issues and/or requirements;
• Service-oriented mindset;
• Ability to work independently while also being a team player;
• Attention to detail, particularly in producing documentation;
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Desired experience:

• Microsoft Windows Desktop Environment;
• Microsoft Windows Server Environment;
• Microsoft Office 365 Cloud Environment;
• On-Prem/Azure Active Directory;
• VoIP phone systems;
• +3 years in a similar role;
• Experience in an international/global company;
• Experience working independently and reporting to management abroad.
